Restart

Well, the whole cataloging-my-move-to-Las-Vegas-while-pregnant thing didn't go over like I planned, mostly due to an lack of motivation, inability to focus and, oh yeah, the fact that I was moving to Las Vegas while six months pregnant!

Ah, well. There's no better time than the present to start anew, right? So, here we go again...

Yes, I finally gave birth to an 8 pound, 14 ounce bundle of joy. After 20 arduous hours of labor -- without drugs, I might add -- LZ popped into the world with a head full of hair on lucky July 7, 2007.

She really is the light of my life, one of the few things I've done that I don't second guess. Not to get too mushy or anything, but she is, hands down, the best baby in the whole world.

I'm also a stay-at-home mom now, something that's taken (taking) a lot of getting used to. Not that I was some sort of high-powered career woman before, it's just tough getting used to the lack of structure my days have now. Add to the fact that I don't really know anyone in town, and you have a recipe for ... what, I don't know quite yet.

Las Vegas is an interesting town, especially after living in Austin. While it does sort of trend toward soulless, I'm going to reserve judgment for now.

So that's it. Six months of water under the bridge. What do the next six months hold? God only knows. I guess I'll just have to wait and see...
