Let me just state, for the record, that cake decorating is totally not my style; it sounds like such a bored-housewife thing to do. But then again, I'm a housewife, and I'm bored, so I guess it's not out of character at all (but only boring people are bored, right?).
Anyway, I just finished the last class of Course 1 and, I must say, I've really enjoyed it. I never would have taken the class in a million years if it weren't for my next door neighbor, who is an instructor. Even though I suspect she was just drumming up business when she asked me, I took the class largely out of a desire to help her (she was just starting out teaching), as well as a desire to get out of the house.
I'm certainly no cake decorating prodigy, but I had a lot of fun, learned a (semi-) useful skill and am already planning to take the next class. And yes, the above is my latest creation.
