Full Circle

When LZ was a tiny baby, I'd always have to wait for her to nap before I could take a shower. I didn't feel comfortable leaving her alone and awake anywhere where I couldn't see her and there was really no place in the bathroom to put her.

Then I discovered the miracle of the car seat.

LZ liked being in the car seat; I could put it on the floor of the bathroom so she could see me (and vice-versa) while I showered.

It was like the heavens opened up! I no longer had to waste precious nap time with hygiene issues. I was also able to take showers a lot more regularly (sometimes *gasp* even EVERY DAY) since I was no longer at the mercy of her erratic nap schedule.

By the time she was able to start wriggling out of the car seat, she was pretty much able to sit up on her own. I could plop her down in front of the bathroom door, put some pillows and toys around her and shower away.

Now, she crawls, which means she doesn't stay where I put her. And she's got some weird separation-anxiety thing going on (seriously, not only can I not be out of her sight at times, sometimes I can't even put her down), so I'm back to waiting until she naps to shower again.

I just thought that was amusing.
